The energetic: we are much more than a physical body
Introduction
We tend to reduce ourselves to our physical body — the one we see, touch and treat. Yet the energetic invites us to look further: we are composed of several levels of existence, visible and invisible, that interact continuously.
Our subtle bodies
According to the energetic approach, we have a physical body, but also so-called “subtle” bodies that surround and animate it:
The physical body: our material envelope.
The etheric body: the energetic double of the physical body, which transmits vitality to it.
The astral or emotional body: the seat of our emotions and feelings.
The mental body: that of our thoughts.
The causal or spiritual body: the link with our soul and our life path.
The buddhic plane: the level of intuitive consciousness and universal love.
The atmic or divine plane: the highest level, that of unity with the whole.

The chakras: our energy centres
Energy circulates in the body through energy centres called chakras. We have 7 main and 28 secondary ones:
The root chakra: grounding, security.
The sacral chakra: creativity, emotions.
The solar plexus: self-confidence, willpower.
The heart chakra: love, relationship with others.
The throat chakra: expression, communication.
The third eye: intuition, clairvoyance.
The crown chakra: spirituality, connection with the divine.

The auras
We also have several auras, corresponding to the different energy fields surrounding our body. Among them, those of the mental body and the emotional body play an essential role.
The mental divides into two parts:
The lower mental is the ego.
The higher mental governs our five senses and is very useful to us in daily life.

The world of the invisible
Beyond matter, there is a much deeper and invisible aspect present in all living beings. These are influences that could be described as external, grouped under the name of blockages. All influences from the invisible world fall into this category.
This dimension is far more important than it appears: neither material nor logical, it is said to be at the origin of 76% of pathologies.

Conclusion
Becoming aware of our subtle bodies, our chakras, our auras and the influences of the invisible world is opening the door to a more global understanding of oneself. The energetic does not replace looking at the physical body: it complements it, by taking interest in what is at play in depth.
