Nutrition… One of the 3 Pillars of Our Health

We are what we eat

Hippocrates

We all know today that our state of health depends, to a large extent, on what we eat.

And yet… The number of diseases linked to a “poor” diet continues to rise at an alarming rate.

Is it really so difficult to eat well?

Obesity, diabetes, hypertension, cancers, cardiovascular disease, excess cholesterol: all these conditions are linked to our eating habits.

We must change our dietary behaviour.

As a preamble to any change in behaviour, awareness is required.

In this case, it means realising that we truly build our health and quality of life with what is on our plate.

From birth, all the components useful for building our body and its functioning come from what we breathe, eat and drink.

And throughout our lives, the regular renewal of our body cells draws the necessary elements from our food.

We are what we eat

Consequently, if we provide our body with poor-quality raw materials and always eat the same foods, we can expect our health to suffer and to experience deficiencies.

This is what an ever-growing number of people are living through.

Conversely, “we can make our food our first medicine”, as Hippocrates, the father of medicine, already advocated four centuries before our era.

That said, one does not change 15, 20 or 40 years of habits with a simple snap of the fingers.

The factors that influence the way we eat and drink are numerous: our personal desires and needs, our state of health, our social environment, our genetic heritage and the advertising of agro-food groups that are not there for our health but to enrich themselves at the lowest cost, which makes us prefer the sweet to the bitter, our family culture or our religion.

We must also tame the stress that interferes with our best intentions.

We must also take the financial aspect into account, since a good calorie unfortunately costs more than a bad one, but you can control this by avoiding certain toxic foods.

A change in behaviour as important as eating habits therefore takes time.

One does not go in a few days from a fast-food menu to a varied and balanced diet providing all the micronutrients, trace elements, fibre and vitamins we need.

It is a process that takes place over time.

Pleasure eating

After advocating restrictive diets as sad as punishments and often doomed to failure because they generate too much frustration, nutritionists have today changed their discourse.

It is no longer about depriving oneself of this or that food, but about favouring highly nutritious and low-calorie foods rather than the opposite.

All this without forgetting a notion of the highest importance: the pleasure of eating.

Eating better therefore means varying the intake of vital elements by drawing on the incredible diversity of existing foods.

This is how one increases well-being, maintains a healthy body weight and protects oneself from almost all chronic diseases.

Because, whatever the progress of medicine, it is and always will be simpler to prevent disease than to cure it.

There is also the energetic aspect, because our body vibrates at a certain frequency.

Filling it with dead foods will lower its vibrational rate.
